Located in Saxony Estate Private Game Reserve this low-slung home aims to create a new safari experience rather than stick with the traditional game lodge style of architecture.
The use of raw materials helps soften the transition between the built form and the natural landscape allowing for a seamless shift from inside to outside. The intent for this house was to create a comfortable open plan living arrangement with a strong connection to its surroundings. You enter the home alongside the pool which straddles inside and out, pulling ephemeral reflections of sky and clouds deep into the house. The outdoor entertainment area was designed to complement the surrounding natural landscape and add to the overall experience of being in nature. The living area, as well as all four bedrooms, will have breathtaking views of the surrounding bushveld and further ones immersion into nature.
